Dream It. Find It. Love It.

Like many girls growing up in Canada, Barb Craig was a Brownie and Girl Guide.  It wasn’t until her daughter started Brownies in 1988 that Barb really became involved in the national organization that helps girls become confident contributors to their communities, and prepares them to meet life’s challenges head on.  It certainly did all of that for Barb. Not only did Guiding help with her self-confidence and public speaking, it taught her to work as part of a team – invaluable life lessons for sure!

The Promise
Barb believes in the philosophy of the Guiding movement. “Guiding helped me become the person I am today,” says Barb.
“I live the Guide Promise. I practice the Guide Laws and I use my Guide motto. Be Prepared, every day.”
Be prepared is my motto and I always try to be.

Helping Others
For 20 years Barb helped shape young girls’ lives as a leader for Brownies, Girl Guiders and Pathfinders, a Deputy Area Commissioner, District Commissioner and Program Advisor and she sat on various provincial committees. As well as receiving her 30-year pin as a member of the Girl Guides of Canada, Barb has been honored with the Gold and Silver Meritt Awards from the organization.
While Barb calls herself a retired Guide, she is still involved in the organization that had such a profound effect on the person she is today – honest, dependable, accountable and a real team player. She remains a full member of the Girl Guides of Canada and belongs to the Hardwood Lake Trefoil Guild.

Being True
Family, her church and her faith are other aspects that matter most to Barb. She admits her greatest career was being a mother to her three children – Hayley, Alexander and Daniel. She stayed at home full time for 14 years, attended their school functions, track meets and school trips and delighted in each of their accomplishments.

When not spending time with her kids or Bill, her husband of 35 years, Barb enjoys reading, listening to music and signing in her church choir, the latter of which gives her a great sense of peace and belonging. “My faith is part of me,” says Barb. “How I do things, treat people and attend to business are all related to that.”

Guiding her Career
Barb brings the confidence and community focus she developed through Guiding and her faith into her real estate career – a career she began thirteen years ago when she answered a call for help. She was ready for a challenge and she rose to the occasion. She began her real estate career as a buyer specialist, advancing two years later to listing coordinator, before assuming more and more responsibility and becoming involved in all aspects of real estate. Barb is proud to be a team member, serving Hants County to Annapolis County.

When you’re ready to buy or sell your home, team up with Barb Craig and assistant Tanya Kidlark, and let her Guide you all the way.
